Eastern Area Visit Program

Eastern Area Visit Program provides companionship, socialisation, and support to the frail, aged, disabled, and socially isolated, as well as respite to carers through home visits and outings. The program serves people living in the Eastern areas of Sydney, from Wooloomooloo to La Perouse.

Volunteers and staff pride themselves on their commitment to care, continuity of service, confidentiality, safety and providing an uplifting experience to carers and clients. The needs of the users of the service are carefully matched to the qualities of the Volunteer or staff member who is to visit and spend time with them.

The initiative was a result of a detailed investigation by social workers in 1995. Having accepted the recommendation, Outreach proceeded to train volunteers to be the backbone of the service.

“Not having any family, I've looked forward to the company, outings and friendship”.
